Jonathan Vallarta represents Mexico at United Nations meeting ICP19

NEW YORK, NY — Dr Jonathan Vallarta, a Senior Project Scientist with JASCO Applied Sciences based in Mexico, represented that country at the nineteenth meeting of the United Nations Open-ended Informal Consultative Process on Oceans and the Law of the Sea (ICP19) convened 18-22 June 2018 at UN Headquarters in New York. The meeting brought together representatives from governments, intergovernmental organizations, non-governmental organizations, and academic institutions to examine this year’s topic “Anthropogenic underwater noise.” Jonathan spoke to attendees about JASCO’s successful coral reef monitoring project in Cozumel, Mexico, conducted in collaboration with Mexico’s National Commission of Protected Natural Areas (Comisión Nacional de Áreas Naturales Protegidas, CONANP).
