ObserverSnout
Real-time passive acoustic monitoring and processing
JASCO’s intelligent modular solution for real-time, passive acoustic monitoring, OceanObserver™, now comes in a hydrodynamically shaped external aluminum pressure housing with an integrated M36 hydrophone. The ObserverSnout enables operators to easily access removeable SD memory cards and plug-in a laptop for system testing calibration and file downloads.
Ideal solution for:
Marine mammal detection, identification, and localization
Multi-sensor ocean observing
Ambient and vessel noise quantification
Wind and tidal energy monitoring
Customized processing & telemetry
On-board signal processing is done by PAMlab INT, the integrated version of JASCO’s PAMlab software suite: detection and identification of marine mammal calls and clicks, quantifying ambient noise and sounds from vessels and industrial noise sources, or customized processing.
For bandwidth-limited telemetry like cellular and Iridium, the OceanObserver-Snout converts the detection spectrograms into contours and ranks them by priority. The events are relayed via satellite and delivered by email.
