PortListen
Cloud-based software for Passive Acoustic Monitoring
A secure, web-portal for viewing information derived from passive acoustic monitoring and underwater acoustic measurement systems. PortListen enables stakeholders to visualize, navigate, and share underwater sound detections and measurements.
Automatic vessel source level measurements
Marine mammal detection, classification, localization, tracking, and notifications
Ambient sound measurements
Temporal and spatial filtering
Concise actionable reports
AmbientView
Provides ambient noise measurements from stationary or moving PAM systems.
AmbientView enables users to view and download ambient noise metrics and statistics.
View hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly cadence plots, spectrograms, and box and whisker quartile plots. A “Create Report” button generates a PDF of all graphs for the selected time-period.
PAMView
Provides tools for visualizing and filtering marine mammal detections from stationary or moving PAM systems.
PAMview allows stakeholders to view, listen, and filter detections by location, time, and species. Analysts can examine individual vocalizations, listen to associated audio and validate automatic detections. Validated detections can be designated for electronic delivery to interested stakeholders.
ShipSound
ShipSound enables the visualization of data and measurements related to vessel noise measurements. The available information includes decidecade band levels, spectra, spectrograms, navigational tracks, ship metadata, and environmental data as below:
Radiated noise levels conforming to the ANSI 12.64 2009 (R2014) measurement standards.
Monopole source levels for acoustic propagation models
Frequency spectrum
Spectrograms for the vessel passage and measurement time window
Full-featured Quality Control interface
Each vessel measurement is summarized in a two-page report which includes:
Spectral source levels
Frequency weighted source levels by species
Noise performance rankings by ship-class
ShipSound is used with JASCO’s OceanObserver Underwater Listening Stations (ULS), and other systems that provide vessel noise measurements.
The processed results from the cabled observatory can include real-time detections of marine mammals to alert ships, vessel noise emission measurements, and notifications of sound levels above regulatory thresholds.
PortListen’s ShipSound portal provides fast and intuitive online access to current and historical measurements and results.
MapView
PortListen provides a spatial display for understanding where passive acoustic detections and measurements have occurred. Users can filter data and informational products temporally and spatially. Users can also filter information by receiver platform (or station) and view moving source vessel & receiver platform tracks.
Easy and secure Web Access
Equipped with user accounts, protection of client owned information and fully featured data access control mechanisms, PortListen provides assured data and information security, protects valuable IP, and helps mitigate risk related to the leakage of sensitive project information.
